Merlin Custom Home Builders brought home two 2021 Silver Nugget awards from the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association’s gala, held Friday evening, October 15 at the at the J.W. Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa. Merlin was recognized in the Best Kitchen and Best Primary Bath categories for the “V-Elements” custom home at The Summit owned by Duncan and Irene Lee.

“We are both proud and honored to be recognized for our work on this spectacular and unique home,” stated Steve Jones, Founder and CEO of Merlin Custom Home Builders. “Our team worked diligently to bring the vision of the architect and the Lee family to life – and the best part of winning was seeing the Lee’s faces!”

The “V-Elements” home was the brainchild of the homeowners, Duncan and Irene Lee, who envisioned their dream home being designed around The Five Element Theory, a Chinese philosophy which emphasizes the interactions of the five fundamental elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. The Lee’s worked closely with Las Vegas Architect Eric Strain and his Assemblage Studio and Interior Designer April Mahn, to incorporate generous portions of each of the five elements into the accents of the dramatic 11,803 square foot hill-top home, providing Merlin the language to build the Lee’s vision. Once the handoff was made to Merlin, we worked to not only ensure that the Lee’s vision was met, but that the home was built with highest of standards and the most sustainable materials.

Merlin Custom Home Builders was also recognized as a finalist for Best Design and Architecture and Best Outdoor Living Space for the same custom home in the 2021 Silver Nugget Awards program, which included 35 awards honoring industry excellence. Past recognition for Merlin includes a 2019 win for Best Design and Architecture for the Water’s Edge model custom home located in the Estates at Reflection Bay at Lake Las Vegas and recognition as a finalist for Best Design and Architecture and Best Outdoor Living Space for the Terra Custom Home at The Summit in 2020.
