Get To Know The Partners

Steve Jones built Merlin Custom Home Builders on a commitment to maintaining the highest quality building standards and treating people with integrity, respect and compassion. This is exemplified in the fact that numerous multimillion-dollar homes were realized with a handshake rather than a contract.

Erica Morrison joined Merlin Custom Home Builders in 2004. Starting as the receptionist, she learned the company from the ground up, gathering information about the inner workings and history of Merlin. The partnership was realized in July of 2019 when Erica became a full partner in the company and took on the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer.

Health Benefits

We provide an HMO plan after the first 60 days of employment (or upon hire for upper management) at no cost to employees. An upgrade to a POS plan is available to employees who wish to contribute to it. Dental and vision benefits are also available to employees who wish to purchase these options


We offer a 401K plan, with employer match, to employees after one year with the company. We will match employee contributions up to 4% (full match of first 3% of the employee contribution and 50% of the next 2%)

Profit Sharing

We also provide a profit-sharing program which distributes funds to employees based on the company’s profitability and the employee’s years with the company. Our vesting schedule is as follows: 2 years of employment – 20%; 3 years – 40%; 4 years – 60%; 5 years – 80%; and 6+ years – 100%

Time Off

We provide 7 paid holidays and Paid Time Off (PTO) for full-time employees. PTO—which includes vacation, personal, and sick time—is based on length of employment, as follows: After 90 days – 7 days (56 hours); after 1 year – 10 days (80 hours); after 2 years (upper management) or 3 years (all others) – 15 days (120 hours)
