Merlin is proud to support Three Square Food Bank, a non-profit organization that provides food assistance to more than 300,000 residents of Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda and Clark Counties in Southern Nevada. Merlin’s $10,000 contribution helps twice as many families this year, as our donation qualifies for Three Square’s matching gift program in which one of the organization’s sponsors matches all donations dollar-for-dollar.
“We are passionate about providing meals for children, seniors and families in Southern Las Vegas through Three Square Food Bank,” said Steve Jones, Merlin’s Founder and CEO. “The need for food assistance is ever-present in our society, and now, at a time when many people have lost their jobs and food insecurity is spreading nearly as fast as COVID-19, it is more important than ever to support those in need in our local communities.”
Merlin Custom Home Builders is a long-time supporter of the local food bank, having funded meals for more than 138,000 of our Southern Nevada neighbors since 2013. In addition, Merlin’s Co-Owner and Chief Operating Officer Erica Morrison and her husband, Chad, have represented the company by volunteering to help Three Square prepare bags of fresh produce for senior citizens in the Southern Las Vegas area as part Feeding America’s Hunger in Action™ month last year.
Three Square provides wholesome food to hungry people through programs such as food banking (warehousing canned and boxed goods), food rescue (obtaining surplus or unused meats, bread, dairy and produce from hospitality and grocery outlets), and ready-to-eat meals.
