Merlin Custom Home Builders takes job-site safety very seriously. To that end, each of the homes we build are subject to two regularly scheduled safety events: a biweekly OSHA 3rd party inspection and the Superintendent’s weekly Tail Gate Talk.

Roberto Gomez Rubio, an OSHA Authorized Outreach Provider, conducts our biweekly OSHA 3rd Party Inspection and generates a detailed report that reflects his on-site inspection. The report includes the following: 1) correction status of any previous hazard; 2) notes on all observed hazards; and 3) recommendations for correcting each identified hazard. These biweekly reports are logged and published in each job’s Procore account where they are accessible to homeowners, Merlin’s leadership team, subcontractors and all identified interested parties.

Merlin’s weekly Tail Gate Talk activity is conducted by each job’s Superintendent and includes all on-site personnel for each job. This 5-minute talk covers various safety protocols and procedures recommended by Mr. Rubio and OSHA. Talks range from current COVID-19 requirements to specific job-related topics such as ladder safety. In order to ensure that the meetings are attended by all of the necessary parties, a sign-in-sheet tracks all who attend. The sign-in-sheet and notes from each safety talk are logged and published in each job’s Procore account where they are available to homeowners, Merlin’s leadership team, subcontractors and all identified interested parties.

At Merlin Custom Home Builders, we are always very serious about safety.
