Merlin Custom Home Builders hosted fellow members of their National Home Builders Association (NAHB) Builder 20 Club group, The Doors, at a Project Management Summit on September 13th at the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The seminar provided group members with education on the role Project Management plays in the success of a luxury custom home building company as well as practical skills and tools that can increase the success of building projects.

“Good Project Management skills are vital to success when building custom homes,” said Erica Morrison, Co-owner and COO of Merlin Custom Home Builders. “Effective planning and proper work management processes can be the difference between success and failure in providing the luxury homes and condominiums that not only meet, but exceed a clients’ visions.”

The seminar included sessions on the role of Project Managers; communication tools; prioritization and scheduling skills; selecting subcontractors and vendors; managing project budgets and quality control.

The Doors Builder 20 Club group is the sixth of 20 groups that comprise the NAHB’s 20 Club Program. The invitation-only program groups together similar types of home builders from non-competing markets to share concerns, challenges, ideas and information in order to learn ways to improve their businesses. The Doors group is comprised of some of the finest and most innovative home builders in the country. Members of the group have received 5 of the 12 National Custom Home Builder of The Year Awards.  Merlin Custom Home Builders received the 5th in 2017.
