Co-owner and Chief Operating Officer Erica Morrison and her husband, Chad, recently volunteered their time to help Three Square Food Bank prepare bags of fresh produce for senior citizens in the Southern Las Vegas area. Erica, Chad and the other volunteers in their group packed 1,200 bags of oranges and pears for the elderly as part of Three Square’s participation in Hunger in Action Month™, a national campaign in which Feeding America’s network of food banks unite to spread the word about hunger in America.
“Chad and I are proud to represent Merlin in support of Three Square and their effort provide healthy meals for local children, seniors and families,” Erica explained. “Bart, Steve and all of us at Merlin believe strongly in the premise that no one in our community should go hungry, and will continue to support Three Square in pursuit of a hunger-free community here in Southern Las Vegas.”
Three Square, Southern Nevada’s Food Bank, provides food assistance to residents of Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda and Clark Counties, feeding more than 164,000 Southern Nevadans each month. The organization provides wholesome food to hungry people through programs such as food banking (warehousing canned and boxed goods), food rescue (obtaining surplus or unused meats, bread, dairy and produce from hospitality and grocery outlets), and ready-to-eat meals.
Merlin Custom Home Builders is a long-time supporter of Three Square. Since 2013, the Merlin team has provided more than 138,000 meals for our neighbors in Southern Nevada who struggle with hunger. To learn how you can help, click here.
