At Merlin Custom Home Builders, delivering absolute perfection requires a team that is not only highly skilled but deeply committed to continuous growth. We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our field operations, Ernesto “Ernie” Monroy, who joins us as a Carpenter Apprentice.

Ernie joined the Merlin family in April, and he has already hit the ground running. He is currently contributing his talents to our Lot 51 project, working closely under the mentorship and direction of John Grimes. This hands-on guidance from our seasoned leadership ensures that the time-honored traditions of fine luxury craftsmanship are seamlessly passed down to the next generation of custom builders.

A Proven History of Leadership and Execution

Ernie brings a robust background in team management, logistics, and operational execution to the job site. A graduate of Eldorado High school right here in Las Vegas, Ernie has spent years honing his professional skills in fast-paced, high-standard environments across Southern Nevada.

His career history highlights a natural capability for leadership and precision:

  • Operational Supervision: Most recently, Ernie served as a supervisor for Capstone Building Services, where he managed teams to complete building repairs, structural maintenance, and ensure strict compliance with safety standards.
  • Territory Management: He spent seven years with Red Bull Distribution Company, moving from an account sales manager to a merchandiser manager overseeing entire territories across Las Vegas, Arizona, and Utah while upholding elite brand expectations.
  • Team Coordination: His early professional foundation includes managing inventory and backroom operations for regional retail hubs and driving customer satisfaction for Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling.

Through every role, Ernie has demonstrated an ability to build strong relationships, solve complex workplace issues, and find strategic solutions to keep projects moving forward.

In His Own Words: The Drive to Execute

What makes Ernie a perfect fit for the Merlin culture is his authentic, relentless work ethic. When asked to describe his approach to life and work, Ernie shares a mindset that perfectly aligns with our core pillars of honesty and premium service.

“I’m a genuine hard-working person who likes to keep it authentic with people. I like to bring the best energy to every situation, good or bad. I’m polite and well-mannered. I push myself to be the best version of myself daily. I try to soak in new things so I can be knowledgeable and be a good asset to the real world. I’m ambitious and know what I want in life. If I say I’m going to do something, I go for it without question or hesitation. To sum it all up, I’m just a go-getter and like to execute in everything I do.”

Welcome to the Family

When he is not on the job site soaking in new building techniques and mastering finish carpentry, Ernie focuses on pushing himself to be the best asset possible to his community and team.

Our transparent, collaborative process relies on dedicated individuals who refuse to cut corners, and Ernie has already proven himself to be exactly that kind of builder. We are incredibly excited to watch his career flourish under our mentorship program.

Please join us in giving Ernie a warm welcome to Merlin Custom Home Builders!
