About Merlin Custom Home Builders
Our family has been building in Southern Nevada since 1931; starting back when the Jones family settled in the Las Vegas Valley to help build the Boulder (Hoover) Dam. The next generation was born with building in their blood. In fact, in 1989, after spending years gaining practical construction wisdom and developing a belief in absolute perfection, Steve Jones founded Merlin Custom Home Builders.
Over time, the Merlin name became synonymous with unique custom home building. Our reputation for impeccable quality, honesty, and reliability has opened many doors. We were recently awarded the prestigious National Custom Home Builder of the Year 2017 by the NAHB. We have also been honored to build a home for the “Street of Dreams” at MacDonald Highlands, as well as The New American Home 2004®. We have the distinction of building custom homes for two past presidents of the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association and for many top gaming and corporate executives in Las Vegas.

Merlin also understands every detail needed to build a breathtaking living environment with a timeless design that maximizes views and the full potential of each property. We have systems and procedures in place, including personal visits, checklists, calls, emails, and reports to ensure your project stays organized and on track. Clients receive detailed, customized accounting reports each week which address every budget line item, additional work authorization (change orders), weekly billings, and projected costs. Merlin also provides clients with timelines, drop-dead dates for decisions, and cash flow projections. For logistical convenience, our superintendents have field computers, smart phones, and tablets to manage digital communications and keep everyone in sync.

Partners
Steve Jones, born in 1949, had the unique opportunity to grow up with the city and continue the family tradition of building Nevada. After attending college at the University of Nevada, Reno, Steve finished his studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Erica Morrison joined Merlin Custom Home Builders in 2004. Starting as the receptionist, she learned the company from the ground up. As COO, Erica now manages the daily administrative and operational activities of the company to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and compliance.

We have been honored to design, build, and remodel nearly 200 spectacular homes and estates ranging from $1 Million to $25 Million. Our team believes in giving back to the community by volunteering, supporting, organizing, donating to, and even founding worthy local causes. One of Steve Jones’ most notable contributions is being a founding and board member (1996 to 2007) of the Boys Hope Girls Hope group home.
